Abstract
This research has been done to highlight the role of media in increment ofviolence in viewers. People generally think that violence in society is not thatmuch problem as media has made it. But researchers got both quantitative andqualitative results in their analysis that media plays a vital role in increment ofviolence in society. A big number of respondents believe that media is a majorcause of disturbance in today’s society. Almost 92 % of the people believe thattoday the practice of media is a real cause of depression in masses of society, whereas media violence is a major issue today leading people lives towardsdevastation. Majority of population is dissatisfied with the role of media, asmedia is not supposed to introduce violence in society rather supposed toimplement and introduce peace and harmony in society. Violence covered bymedia at a large scale covers such issues that it should not cover according tomedia laws and ethics. The worst thing of media is to portray women, as themost neglected and the most cursed part of the society. The research shows thatmore the violent content is sensationalized, more attraction media gets.92 %people believe that media is just a major cause of anxiety in society, where as92 % people believe that media as a weapon of mass depression. This researchshows that our private media channels are a major cause of introduction ofViolence in society via its sensationalized news and violent content of its TVCrime shows.
