Item Innovation In Aviation(University of Management and Technology, 2018) Faiza MahmoodToday, when one thinks about flying, the first thing that he can imagine is the modern aircrafts and people travelling from their source to destination while being seated in those aircraft. Those who have experienced such mode of travel may even add some more details of reserving the flight, going through the security process at the airport and flying in the company of sometimes nice and sometimes annoying next seat neighbours. Some may even be able to relate some flight horror stories of spending the whole time of their travel pleading the person in the row before you to kindly straighten their seat, and later swearing to never travel by air ever again. What the common passenger fails to consider is the sacrifices made by the aviation enthusiasts to make man able to fly. The charm and enthrallment in flight has always captured man's interest, and once man was able to fly, there was no looking back and only looking forward. From the fateful day at Kitty Hawk, aviation has been growing explosively. Today, aviation is not merely the art of flying a vehicle in air, but also the art of making this activity commercial and the art of managing this complex yet adventurous field. The madmen of the past have been able to give us this flying vehicle, but now it was up to the modern man to make better use of these vehicles. Many branches grew out of aviation such as safety, security, and yield management. Aviation played a great role in teaching the importance of creating systemized approaches. Aviation, with all its dilemmas, continued to grow and expand. What once was only a mode of transportation has now become the core of businesses, world economies, and world peace and politics. Today, the whole process of taking a flight has become complex. It is not only boarding the aircraft after presenting your ticket. The passenger only knows about the surface level activities, but so much work goes on behind the scenes. It is one of the beauties of the aviation industry that the passenger never knows the pains not only airlines but government and inter-government level organizations go through in order to ensure that their travel remain safe and secure.
