Item Safety management system (SMS) & implementation in Pakistan(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Umair Khan, M.; Khan, Obaidullah; Talal Khan, M.Safety and security are two essential elements of aviation industry as they directly affect the human life; if any one of the component fail human life would be at stake and there will be risk of fatalities and injuries as well. Along with the life of man other main asset is equipment and infrastructure; aircrafts, hangers, terminal building, apron, navigational aids and other equipment. If any one of these is damaged it will cost heavily to the organization or company operating it, lowering their profit. It is general view of people to relate safety only with the accidents that occur, rather lives of thousand people flying daily depend upon the safety regulations and recommendations that are adopted by the organization and implemented by ICAO to ensure risk free air travel. In present time, aviation authorities and airline operators try to hire best trained and reliable individual and ensure that maximum safety precautions are followed. Aviation safety is equally important in economic growth of any country; forty percent of all tourist travel by air every year, if there is small decline in this number due safety concerns it will cost huge lost in millions. Approximately 14n million jobs around the world are related aviation industry small percent decline in air travel can be catastrophic to the economy of country and badly impacting the aviation industry.
