    Automated license number plate recognition system

    Car parking is one of the hot research topics. By implementing this system it will create many benefits for the people by going freeway to the parking plaza or reducing a time for authorization by exchanging cards with the security guards. By doing so, it will save time and also enhance the security level. In this project we develop a system which detects a car license number plate. This process is divided into five parts: captured image, preprocessing, extraction of number plate, segmentation, and character recognition. There are many techniques to implement this system, but we made our own extraction function which detects the plate. With this, we use the SVM technique for character recognition. We have collected datasets from different areas and with different designs of plates.
