Integrated Vehicle Health Monitoring System (Fuel Filter)
(UMT, Lahore, 2019) WASEEM SAJJAD AASI, MUHAMMMAD ROSHAAN and MUHAMMAD UMER SHABBIR
This report describes the IVHMS concept for detecting the aircraft’s fuel filter state by monitoring pressure and flow variations. It predicts the failure before breakdown of the fuel system so that the pilot can have an uninterrupted flight and can avoid any disaster. Currently, almost all maintenance is dependent on schedule/preventive maintenance. Predictive maintenance of fuel system is done by using IVHMS concept except of schedule or preventive maintenance. This project has done on two types of fuel filters used on Mehran cars; one set of fuel filter is used on Mehran old model cars and another type is used on Mehran new model cars. These filters are used for testing purpose on the fuel mock up system, data has collected, analyzed and results are generated. Both types, New Filter is used to draw pressure reference graph. After performing the data analysis through different tests done by using different filters at different valve positions, Mehran new model car filter No. 2 is 75% clogged and filter No. 3 is 62% clogged. New model car filter No. 2 is 75% clogged and filter No. 3 is 62% clogged. The conclusion of the testing is that these type of filters are change after the average of 62% clogged
