    Lean manufacturing is a business strategy which is developed in Japan. The main benefit of this strategy is improvement in productivity of manufacturing, reduction in wastages and also improvement in quality of the product in this era of competition. There are several tools of lean manufacturing. This research is attempted to identify the applicability of one of the important tool of lean named Value Stream Mapping in the sewing department of apparel industry of Pakistan. In this research firstly, current state map is developed by doing necessary calculations after this gap analysis being made in gap analysis things to be identified which creating hurdles in current state in the last step future and purposed work state is being developed. The findings of this research paper extended to similar apparel industry in the future.
