    DRUG ADDICTION IN YOUTH EVIDENCE MAINLY FROM LAHORE, PAKISTAN

    This study examines the pervasive issue of drug addiction among youth, exploring its causes, consequences, and potential interventions. Drawing from a range of scholarly sources and empirical studies, the research highlights the multifaceted nature of youth drug addiction, encompassing social, psychological, and biological factors. It investigates the role of peer pressure, family dynamics, socioeconomic status, and genetic predispositions in the initiation and progression of addiction. Furthermore, the study delves into the detrimental effects of drug abuse on cognitive development, academic performance, and mental health among young individuals. Additionally, it evaluates various preventive measures and treatment approaches, including education campaigns, early intervention programs, and pharmacological therapies. By synthesizing current knowledge and identifying gaps in understanding, this study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of youth drug addiction and informs strategies for effective prevention and intervention efforts
