    Smart robotic arm with a camera eye

    The project’s main objective is to design and program an artificial intelligence-based robotic arm with six degrees of freedom that could be used to grab different objects placed in predefined areas. It includes a camera interface that is placed on the conveyor belt facing the arm, whose function is to capture the image of the object, detect its color, get the data, and process the acquired information. The robotic arm used for this project is movable in six degrees of freedom. The main function of the robotic arm is to pick and place objects from the conveyor belt to their designated places. The Arduino acts as the controller, which gives the servos on the robotic arm a certain argument as a signal that interprets the robotic arm’s direction of motion. The camera installed next to the conveyor belt detects the object based on its color because the live feedback from the camera is taken as an input to the Raspberry Pi, which uses computer vision to detect the object’s color and sends a signal to the Arduino. The conveyor belt stops when an object is detected in front of the ultrasonic sensor, which is also installed on the conveyor belt. The whole design resembles an actual human arm and hand but is confined to the size, position, and orientation of the object being grabbed.
