THE INFLUENCE OF GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION, POLITICAL INSTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY ON TRUST IN GOVERNMENT
    (UMT, Lahore, 2023) SHAZMA KAUSAR
This research empirically assesses the impact of government corruption, political instability, and transparency on public’s trust in government in Lahore, Pakistan using quantitative data collection research method. The survey was distributed both in person and online to professionals in five different fields using a quota sampling technique — out of 385 surveys received, 376 valid responses were analyzed after confirming the survey's reliability through a pre-test. Descriptive and regression analysis performed via SPSS validate all three hypotheses; indicating government corruption and political instability have negative relationships with public trust in government while transparency positively impact public trust levels. These results point strongly towards implementing robust anti-corruption mechanisms, reforms to promote political stability coupled with increased transparency as sure ways to increase citizens' trust.
