Nanoparticles are utilized in biomedicine, and transition metals have garnered substantial interest in the biomedical field, particularly for their potential in targeted drug delivery and cancer therapy. Magnesium oxide is an alternative to antibiotics as it is a non-toxic inorganic antibacterial agent. The objective of this study was to develop a green synthesis method for magnesium oxide nanoparticles using plant extracts such as turmeric and cinnamon, due to their known antibacterial activity against resistant bacteria. The most useful advantage of employing plants for nanoparticles conjugation is that the process is simple to apply, bio-safe, environmentally friendly, less expensive, and it also encompasses a broad diversity of metabolites involved in the ion reduction process. Structural analysis confirmed their crystalline nature, spherical morphology, presence of functional groups in nanoparticles, and their uniform nanoscale distribution. The conjugated nanoparticles exhibited promising cytotoxic activity against specific cancer cell lines, indicating their potential for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.
