Purposely, vocational teachers and class teachers were selected for the exploration of related information. The objectives of the study were to investigate the special educationists and the vocational trainers about the quality and challenges of curriculum and vocational training programs for transition process. The researchers developed two self-constructed instruments with the help of literature and field experience. The study was conducted in two districts of Punjab, Sahiwal and Lahore. Sample of 148 class teachers and vocational trainers were selected through purposive sampling, from all public institutes dealing students with intellectual disability. Pilot testing was done with 10 professionals. The data was analyzed by two different methods; one is common theme interpretation that is qualitative part of questionnaire and other is analyzed by SPSS software. In SPSS, the frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and correlation were run and interpreted in findings. The main findings were that there was lack of resources and attention from society and parents for transition of intellectual disabled students. There were limited resources and lack of trained teachers like a single teacher deals as curriculum teacher as well as vocational teacher. The resources were so limited that the proper learning process is not done. It was found that the parents’ demands and expectations from the schools were very different as compared to the school’s planning; consequently, teachers faced difficulty to convince and work with intellectually disabled students. The study recommended that the government should pay attention to needs of intellectual students for transition from school to work with ease and give a plan according to demand of society and resources. There must be rules and policies for transition of intellectually disabled students so that the process of transition is done in a positive and resultant way. The major conclusion is that the intellectually disabled students are not prepared for transition and there are many challenges which have to be faced. The study recommends that another study be done to investigate the policy and rules from government to facilitate the transition of intellectually disabled students and special need students from school to work.
