3D geometric designing using linear algebra.
(UMT Lahore, 2022-07-22) Roshi Anwar; Hafiza Arooj Azeem; Syeda Tayyiba Zamir; Rimsha Shahid
Interest in systems with a free license has grown over the past several years. The Blender is a robust system for 3D design that comes with a free license. A growing number of people are becoming interested in the Blender 3D graphic system because of its compact volume, lack of significant high hardware system needs, numerous benefits, and advancements. The adoption of the open-source Blender system in design practice is justified as being reasonable and correct given this trend's quick, nonlinear positive evolution. It is well known that a large range of software programs are available in the field of 3D graphic design. The makers of 3D software always work to add new features and improve the packages they provide. In actuality, some users may not be able to afford the costs of some of the premium 3D graphics tools. The right 3D system must also take into account its large data capacity and demanding hardware requirements. In recent years, the standards for the quality of the finished result have increased in relation to the computing power of software packages, the design methodologies used during computer design, and particularly the finished visualizations of static and animated models. Given these elements, selecting the best 3D graphics system is a crucial requirement for the design process. This supports the incorporation of a Blender into suggested design practice. Blender is a current technology program that many users like because of its free licensing, open source, easy interface, multilateral design characteristics, and light hardware needs.

Evaluation of nutritional knowledge, attitude and practice among general physicians in Lahore
    (UMT, Lahore, 2025) Rimsha Shahid
The field of nutrition is gaining popularity, but its implication in human lives is still underrated due to certain limitations in the health care system. The patients seek dietary advice from the general physicians since they are the most trustworthy and frontline team of healthcare. Although limited data exists on the nutritional practices of physicians in the community. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional knowledge, attitude and practices (KAP) among general physicians practicing in the hospitals and the health care units based in Lahore, Pakistan. This cross-sectional study was carried out among 320 physicians from various hospitals from August, 2024 till March, 2025. A stratified random sampling technique was used to identify the physician participants. The study included both genders male and female belong to the age group of 25 to 45 years. The descriptive statistics, chi-square test, and correlation tests were used to analyze the data using SPSS. According to the survey results, approximately 60% general physicians have moderate knowledge about basic nutrition including food-drug and interaction, macronutrient and micronutrient. Almost, 80% physicians show positive attitude towards the incorporation of nutritional counselling to the patients in health care settings and also acknowledged the importance of food and nutrition in disease management. Most of them agreed upon the fact that they require more knowledge to enhance their practice. While nearly, 70% physicians gave positive responses about educating diabetic patients, hypertensive patients, hyperuricemia patients to make mindful food choices in order to manage disease conditions but they still lack in providing customized medical nutrition therapy. The association between nutritional knowledge, attitude and practice shows no strong association. The study concluded that lack of time, physician’s lack of confidence, limited nutritional knowledge and unavailability of dietitians in hospitals are the counting factors in the negligence of providing nutritional counselling to the patients.

Perceived parenting rearing styles, self-concept clarity, people pleasing tendencies and academic burnout in university students
(UMT, Lahore, 2025) Sana Ahmed; Rimsha Shahid; Anzil Ali
University life is a critical developmental stage where parenting experiences and personal characteristics significantly affect students’ academic adjustment and psychological well-being. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between perceived parental rearing styles, self-concept clarity, people pleasing tendencies and academic burnout in university students. Purposive sampling design was employed to gather data from N=400 participants by using Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU) for perceived parental rearing styles, the Self-Concept Clarity Scale (SCCS), the People-Pleasing Scale (MLAM), and the Academic Burnout Scale (CBI). Participants were recruited from different govt and private universities of Lahore. Findings of correlation analysis revealed significant positive relationship between rejection, overprotection, people pleasing tendencies and academic burnout, while emotional warmth, self-concept clarity and academic burnout were negatively correlated. Regression analysis indicated that rejection, overprotection, people pleasing tendencies are significant predictors of academic burnout, while emotional warmth and self-concept clarity are negative predictors of academic burnout. Results of the independent sample t test showed significant differences in terms of gender and university type. Overall, the study highlights the role of parenting and personality constructs in developing students’ academic and psychological well-being. This study offers implications for interventions targeting both family dynamics and individual coping strategies.
