Item Green synthesis of titanium oxide nanoparticles and their applications in waste water treatment(UMT, Lhr, 2020) Rana Nabeel AmjadPlant mediated synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles were exploited for the reason that to develop ecofriendly and facile environment. It is carried out by mixing fixed amount of Titanium isopropoxide with the extract of Musa paradisiaca (banana plant) in ratio 10ml: 250ml. Characterization of nanoparticles is done by utilizing SEM, XRD, FTIR, and EDX. XRD peaks depicts percentage purity of titanium dioxide NPs. While, morphological studies are done by SEM, which shows it cylindrical cubic shape. EDX confirms its size range falls into 81nm to75nm. Antibacterial, dye degradation, as well as heavy metal removal efficiencies were determined of synthesized nanoparticles. Disc diffusion method is adopted for pathogenic assay. FTIR is used for adsorption and dye degradation analysis. Maximum zone of inhibition was observed in the synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles (g/ml) against S. aureus (20mm), E.coli (17mm), B. bronchitis (18mm) and B. subtilus (19mm). It shows more antibacterial activity than standard anti-biotic disc, tetracycline. High photocatalytic methyl blue and methyl orange dye decolourization under sunlight and UV luminance were analyzed and compared with each other. It seems that methyl blue dye is more degraded instead of methyl orange in the presence of sunlight. 0.01 to 0.05g nanoparticles were subjected in the water having chromium salt in specific amount i.e. 2.5g/L. Adsorption efficiencies was judged by FTIR spectrum. It proves that percentage absorption for 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 1.25, was 48%, 60%, 66%, 78%, and 84% respectively. Results of this activity proves that the efficient removal of inorganic pollutants as well as organic dyes by mean of titanium dioxide nanoparticles.
