(UMT.Lahore, 2023) SAJJAL ASGHAR; ROOBIA FAROOQ; RUKHSAR DILAWAR
The days when the majority of women stayed home and tended to their family’s needs are long gone. As economic demands, social expectations, and family dynamics continue to change, more women are participating in the workforce. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the number of women participating in the labor force grew from 18 million in 1950 to 66 million in 2000, and is projected to reach 92 million by 2050.The purpose of the study is to explore the challenges faced by working women in private educational institutions in Pakistan. Qualitative research method, interpretive approach was used to conduct this research. In-depth interviews were conducted with 15 participants including 10 christen female workers and 5 Muslim female workers from 2 different private universities (University of Central Punjab and University of Management and Technology) Lahore.
