Design and fabrication of chemical mixing system using plc
(UMT.Lahore, 2014) Shahroz Rafiq; Hafiz Fahid Ali; Qasim Ali
Conventional methods of mixing system of different liquids or chemicals can be costly, both in terms of time and product waste due to either overflow or spillage or improper fraction of substances mixed. In addition, most methods depend on a high level of human influence and manual control, which can present health and safety hazards, as well as non- conventionalism to allow for trade requirements. By applying these methods one cannot achieve high accuracy of fixed chemical ratio. In chemical industry the fixed ratio and proportion maintenance is extremely paramount because without keeping this ratio, our product will be changed and this is not desirable. To increase the reliability and flexibility of these processes a high level of automation is required. If we do this process manually it takes lot of time and manually we cannot maintain the specific ratio. An automated system model is designed in such a way that it can mix three solutions in a fixed ratio. We have four menus and each menu has ability to fill up to three bottles. The solution will be mixed in a container. The liquid flow is controlled via PLC and it flows through solenoid valves. There is photoelectric sensor to detect the presence of a bottle. Bottle moves on a conveyor belt that is controlled by PLC.

Digital color image encryption generated by permutation layer and chen’s hyperchaotic system
    (UMT Lahore, 2023) Qasim Ali
Data encryption and cryptography have many uses, including secure internet communications, medical informatics, security locks, multimedia systems, and secure information sharing (military forces), among others. A wall and a private encryption method are created by using chaotic or hyper-chaotic properties of the system, such as processing capacity, sensitivity, randomness, regularity, and a unique secret key. In this research, "Digital Color Image Encryption generated by Chen's hyper-chaotic system" is used to process digital image encryption, which adjusts color images to cipher images. This method demonstrates good and effective encryption and increases sensitivity in case of any cryptographic attack on the encrypted information.

Increasing students involvement by gamification in assessment evaluation
    (UMT.Lahore, 2018) Qasim Ali
In universities, student’s registers in many courses and they have to submit assignments, quizzes and work on subject projects. They find all these tasks old fashioned and don’t entirely corporate and adequately engage with the course materials. Therefore, students don’t get good grades. Secondly, students can’t get feedback on their work on time, and they become confused either they are on the right path or not and they don’t get the chance to check their progress at any time. This study aimed to gamify course content in such a way that student motivates and participate in classroom activities and manage their time and give them quick feedback and progress report. This research generates a gamification toolbox by blending course outline, project-centric approach, and gamification techniques by developing an online web portal and badges, leaderboard, SMS and web notifications are its main features. This study took two model classes into its observations and performed a series of test on the data. Student t-test shows the level performed better where gamification toolbox was applied. Correlation between project deliverable and questions in exams related to same domain show a strong relationship in the class where gamification of this research was involved.

    Locovox game engine
(University of Management and Technology, 2014) Fazal Ur Rehman; Hasan Mukhtar; Qasim Ali
The main purpose of this project is to be able to create a two dimensional role playing game engine which enables a user to quickly and easily create, save, distribute and play games which they have created. Our emphasis was placed on being able to do this using a small set of powerful tools. A game is able to be made through the creation and customization of maps and events that the in game character (the sprite) can interact with. Once a game has been made, it can also be played using the software. The created game is able to be saved as a single .game file that can be reloaded back into the project for playing or further editing. For our project, similar already available tools were analyzed and followed to identify their key features and to ensure that ourgame engine had a unique selling point. The development methodology chosen was used to reduce the risk, should the project not be fully completed on time and to be adaptive to unforeseen changes.

The relationship between personality traits and language learning strategies among pakistani university esl students
    (UMT Lahore, 2018) Qasim Ali
The major purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between personality traits and language learning strategies (LLSs), prediction of preferred LLSs usage by personality traits, and the association between different demographic factors and LLSs. Two survey instruments, Big Five Inventory (BFI) developed by Goldberg (1993) and Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) version 7.0 developed by Oxford (1990) were administered along with the demographic questionnaire to Pakistani graduate university students learning English as their second language. Three hypothesis were framed in effort to explore possible relationship between personality traits and LLSs, prediction of LLSs by Personality traits and association of LLSs with demographic factors among Pakistani university students. Three self-report questionnaires were administered to 162 participants, males (n = 29) and females (n = 123). Analysis of variance ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and Linear multiple regression tests were used to statistically analyze the quantitative data. Openness, conscientiousness and extraversion personality traits were found to be significantly related to and all six strategies of language learning including memory, cognition, compensation, metacognition, affective and social strategies. Openness and conscientiousness personality traits were signifanctly predicting compensation strategy while metacognitive strategy was significantly predicted by openness and extraversion. In addition female use of strategy was greater in category of memory and cognition than male. Moreover, higher CGPA students were using cognitive strategies while low CGPA students were using metacognitive strategies. Compensation strategy was significantly found to be used by students having, job experience, proficient English speaking parents and Urdu Language as their medium of instruction in school. This study focused on a population of graduate university students in Pakistan. Further research should be conducted representing different ages, geographical area, and academic levels for higher understanding of the influence of these factors on LLSs. It is recommended that teachers should enhance their knowledge of personality traits and LLSs, so they can reinforce the limitations faced by ESL learners at individual level.

To investigate the faults of cotton spun yarn in spinning departments
(UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, 2015) Hafiz Latif Nawaz; Qasim Ali; Zulqarnain Ali; Muhammad Ijaz
Textile is among the greatest manufacturing industries in Pakistan. Cost of textile product plays an important role in the market. Definitely defects price motives a direct outcome on the revenue margin of the product and cut back the high quality cost during the manufacturing of product. Organizations strive to better than better quality of the yarn manufacturing because of the challenging yarn market. The paper of yarns faults within the yarn manufacturing approach is importantenterprise point of view. This procedure has massive departments the place the cotton passes in unique method and may be results the satisfactory of yarn when it reaches the bundle kind. A thousand defects possibilities create in the ultimate package of yarn. In winding department the place the ultimate package of yarn is making. The primary thing of this paper is to give the understanding of distinct problems in spinning departments in first-rate factor of view and the way to reduce the issues yarn faults in the spinning process. Now a day, we only compete in the markets to strive for excellent quality of yarn and focused on to the new technology machinery setup for better yarn results.
