    Case markers in Punjabi language
    (UMT Lahore, 2016) QURAT-UL-AIN
The title of my thesis is “Case Markers in Punjabi Language”. This study elaborates the present range of case markers and their organization and use in targeted language. It helps to suggest the range of disparity in case marking in Punjabi and offers a comprehensive exploration, how semantic case marking is used for its argument charting. It would help to determine specific case markers with restricted semantic sense and usage along with similarities and difference in Urdu and English language. The aim of this dissertation was to detect a probable footing for an instructive study of the perceived asymmetrical case marking in this language which is provided by elaborated examples and comparisons from Urdu. The research is conducted by consulting data and presents a qualitative analysis of this aspect of Punjabi Grammar. Case marking is significant to determine the place of noun within syntactic arrangement. Sentences are collected according to case marker and requirement of its analysis. This research is conducted by presenting comparison of Punjabi language and its grammar with Urdu and Punjabi. It suggests marked similarities and differences between Urdu and Punjabi language. This study is significant for it provides a window to Punjabi Grammar and Its Case Markers.

PERCEPTIONS ABOUT THE EVIL EYE BELIEF PRACTICES AMONG SARAIKI MOTHERS IN A PUNJABI VILLAGE IN PAKISTAN
    (UMT.lahore, 2015) QURAT-UL-AIN
The evil eye phenomenon is common in all cultures. In Pakistani context, this phenomenon has been rarely studied. The aim of the study was to explore the evil eye belief practices among Saraiki mothers in a village in Punjab, Pakistan. Saraiki mothers of Punjab believe in the evil eye phenomenon and have perceptions about its causes and effects. They adopt several types of protective and remedial practices to ward off the evil eye. This study investigates the perceived causes and effects of the evil eye and protective and remedial practices. Using qualitative interviews as primary research method, the researcher approached ten (educated & uneducated) mothers in the village and conducted in-depth interviews. The researcher conducted qualitative content analysis. Themes were emerged directly from the data that produced the interpretation of the finding. People religiously believe in the evil eye and its harmful effects. They relate it with a feeling of envy that intentionally or unintentionally trigger harmful wishes. Besides other folk remedies, Islamic amulets (tawiz) and incantations (dam/ ruqya) are popular religious remedies. The study concludes the religious basis of the evil eye beliefs and religious and folk remedial practices that provide a magico-religious healing framework initiated by a magico-religious perception of the belief.

Photophysical properties of dithienothiophene based conjugated polymer
    (UMT, Lhr, 2021) QURAT-UL-AIN
Conjugated polymeric materials used in organic photovoltaic devices, OPV and organic solar cells OSCs because of their different characteristics such as high stability, high performance, and simple fabrication process, low cost and high flexibility. In this regard different hetero cycles i.e. selenophene and thiophene have great attention because these are the part of conjugated materials such as DTT which are thieno-thiophene based polymers have appealing electronic and optical properties. In these thesis optoelectronic properties of donor and acceptor material investigated through characterization techniques i.e. UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectrophotometers. A non-fullerene acceptor dicyanomethylene)-indanone))5,5,11,11-tetrakis(4-hexyl phenyl)-dithieno[2,3-d:2’,3’-d’]-s-indanceno[1,2 b:5,6b’]dithiophene, ITIC and a donor conjugated material Polydiketopyrrolopyrrole-altditheinothiophene, PDPPDTT were investigated under different conditions and environment to check their stability in dark and cold environment, under sunlight for 8 hours and at room temperature. Different chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents were used for the investigation of solubility, concentration effect at different concentrations such as 10-4M, 10-5M and 10-6M were investigated. Binary solutions of CHCl3:CH3OH with ten dilutions were made to analyze the rate of aggregation. Binary blends of PDPPDTT: ITIC were made to check the charge mobility from donor material to acceptor materials. These properties and stability studied effect the performance of conjugated materials used in organic photovoltaic devices.

Self-control, moral disengagement, and cyber aggression in young adults
    (UMT.Lahore, 2024) QURAT-UL-AIN; SANA IMRAN; SHAHID RASOOL
The study explored the link between Self-control, Moral Disengagement and Cyber Aggression in Young Adults. In the study it was hypothesized that (a) Self-control is negatively related to Cyber Aggression and Moral Disengagement in young adults, (b) Self-control and Moral disengagement are predictors of Cyber Aggression in young adults, (c) There will be significant gender differences in young adults. Correlational cross-sectional research design with Non Probability Purposive sampling technique is used. Total 200 participants (Men=100; Women=100) are included by using g-power formula and in person data collection method was used. Self-control scale (Tangney et al., 2004), Propensity to Morally Disengage Scale (Moore et al., 2012) and Cyber MAD scale (DeMarsico et al., 2021) were used. Results revealed negative correlation between Self-control and Cyber aggression, while positive relationship between Self control and Moral disengagement. Regression analysis showed that self-control is negative predictor of Cyber Aggression. Independent sample t-test results show that Moral disengagement is higher in women as compared to men. This study highlights the implication for students of colleges and universities who can learn how to manage their online interactions in ethical ways.
