    Attitudes of teachers towards research at university level

    Pakistan is a newly created country. Most of the population is ignorant. Majority of the people believe in the traditions and theories, which are unchangeable in view of their thinking. The life in the present has become complicates. This age is essentially the age of complex living, which needs research techniques to tackle the various problems. Not much research has been done in Pakistan on the subject: "Attitudes of teachers towards research". This research aimed at finding the attitudes of teachers by asking them to state their views about various issues and functions of research. For this purpose a questionnaire was prepared. The questionnaire was prepared by the researcher herself under the guidance of teacher of the thesis. The researcher selected "The Punjab University" as the area of her study. Teachers for the sample were selected on availability basis from six (6) departments. The number of teachers thus selected was 30. After the collection of data the tabulation of the data was made. Some basic statistics techniques were used, t-test and Chi-square test were applied This was calculated for each respondents and the total percentage was drawn for each aspect of the attitudes for interpretation.
