    Status of health and safety measures in heavey industrial equipment manufacturing plant Lahore

    Industrial Sector is of great importance for economic development of every country. PakistanIndustrial Sector is the second largest individual sector of the economy accounting for 25 % of the GDP [1].Whatever sort of business we do, there is always the possibility of an accident or damage to someone's health. We need to have a system (e.g. have a policy, designate people and have clear procedures) in place to manage health and safety. We need to be able to show how we plan, organize, control, monitor and review preventative measures. A work man generally spends most of his time at work place; therefore work place should be safe and healthy. Poor and unsafe working conditions at the workplace have a hazardous affect on worker's health, life and safety. Young workers are frequently injured at work. Education and awareness strategies to prevent injuries among young workers are common but they are often ineffective. In this research we will visit in Al Qadri group of industries and will observe health and safety practice there. A questionnaire survey will be performed to collect data regarding safety issues. Some suggestions will be given after survey result.
