    Islamic Ornaments
(UMT Lahore, 2024-11-07) Muhammad Waleed Aftab
This project, titled Islamic Ornaments explores the intricate and culturally significant art of Islamic ornaments, with a particular focus on their application in textiles and jewelry. Islamic ornamentation, encompassing geometric patterns, floral motifs, and Islamic calligraphy, is an expression of spiritual symbolism, cultural heritage, and artistic tradition. This study examines the historical roots of these designs, their symbolic meanings within Islamic culture, and their aesthetic contributions to art and architecture. By analyzing the design techniques such as laser cutting, annealing, casting, and embroidery, the project demonstrates how traditional Islamic ornamentation has evolved and been integrated into modern applications. These methods reveal a blend of ancient and contemporary artistry, where traditional patterns are incorporated into contemporary textile designs to preserve cultural identity and foster cross-cultural appreciation. This work underscores the role of Islamic ornaments in creating visually harmonious and symbolically profound designs that continue to inspire artisans and designers worldwide.
