Noman RafaqatAutomation of the industrial sector is growing rapidly due to the deployment of precision robots. For the process of categorizing and moving materials from one place to another, a pick-and-place robotic arm can be used. With human effort, this process is time-consuming and results in reduced productivity. The automatic system for transformer core stacking is suitable for substituting human labor in transformer core stacking to ensure transformer cores are handled efficiently. The highlighted innovation of this project is a 4-degree-of-freedom robotic arm with a pneumatic gripper that works on stacking transformer cores automatically in a specific pattern. The automatic system for transformer core stacking will be used for industrial assembly lines such as the transformer manufacturing sector. The automatic stacking system effectively picks transformer cores from different positions and places them in a specified pattern. The design of the automatic stacking system consists of a base, shoulder and elbow joints, gripper, and microcontroller-operated control circuits to drive servo motors and gear arrangements.Item Impact of project manager leadership style on project success:(UMT Lahore, 2019) Muhammad UsamaPrior research shows that leadership style affect project success, but impact of leadership of project manager on project success with mediating role of employee job satisfaction is in beginning stage and there is negligible study describing the underlying mechanism between the association of leadership style of project manager and success of project. Keeping this in view, it was needed that a study should be carried out for more high consideration of mechanisms underlying the association between leadership style of project manager and project success. The main purpose of this research study is "To study the effect of leadership styles of project manager on the success of project with mediate role of employee job satisfaction. Success of project and job satisfaction of employee are the main issues in construction projects of Pakistan in these days. Recent ongoing construction projects of different organizations were selected for this research all across Pakistan. Sample was taken from the projects of Lahore, Sialkot, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Rawlakot, Gilgit Baltistan, Sukkar, and Karachi. Population of interest in this study is construction professionals at ongoing construction project of Pakistan and unit of analysis is individuals of construction teams who interact with project manager's leadership style. It was middle and lower management invited to provide their feedback. Each respondent was take as one case and opinion. Total 150 questionnaire were distributed and 125 were got back. Response rate was 83.33%. After collecting data from the field survey, reliability test was performed to check the reliability of the collected data. Validity of construct also checked. Structural equational model analysis performed to check the relationship between the dependent, independent and mediating variables on Smart PLS-3. It is concluded that the mediate role of employee job satisfaction with effect of leadership styles of project manager on the success of project is positive and significant. It is necessary to study mediating role of job satisfaction for the superior understating of mechanisms underlying the association between the project manager leadership styles and success of project. That type of research increases understanding of the utility and rationality of western leadership concept in Pakistan and help in pointing out different aspect of leadership to get better gradation of both the practice and development of leadership skills in construction projects of Pakistan. The recommendations made towards the end of the research will improve the efficiency of project managers, employee's job satisfaction thereby contributing to project success.Item IMPACT OF PROJECT MANAGER LEADERSHIP STYLE ON PROJECT SUCCESS: MEDIATING ROLE OF EMPLOYEE JOB SATISFACTION IN CONSTRUCTIONPROJECTS OF PAKISTAN(umt.lahore, 2019) Muhammad UsamaPrior research shows that leadership style affect project success, but impact of leadership of project manager on project success with mediating role of employee job satisfaction is in beginning stage and there is negligible study describing the underlying mechanism between the association of leadership style of project manager and success of projectItem Online Peer Tutoring (OPT)(UMT Lahore, 2022) Mohammad Arslan Nasir; Muhammad UsamaPakistan's education system lacks in some areas such as after-class assistance for students as counselling hours of teachers aren’t enough given the number of students having issues with their concepts/studies. We need to look for a solution that would help in solving this problem and bring some relief to students and teachers both. The idea is to develop an interactive online tutoring portal by students for students which would be discussion based. Normal y most university students don’t get their concepts clear in class due to many different reasons and lack in understanding in core areas. The problem here is lack of help due to limited teacher availability for one to one counselling sessions as it’s not possible to cater al students in the limited time slots. Here is where our idea comes in. A dedicated discussion based learning portal with excelling students being online tutors for other students who need help in different areas. The solution would be a request based system with students having the option to post requests for the needed topic/concept. The expected results of this system would be that after the requests are posted a list of tutors would have the option to view and apply on these requests and open a discussion. Online sessions would be conducted between the student and tutor to ensure the learning process. The tutors would be ranked by the students with each session they deliver to promote a healthy competition in the system.Item Pakistan Sign Language (Dataset)(UMT Lahore, 2021-09-14) Haroon Anwar; Muhammad UsamaPakistan Sign Language (PSL) is a sign language that was developed for the deaf people of Pakistan so that they can communicate with each other and with hearing people. As there was no dataset available for PSL, no software product could be developed for the deaf because machine learning and deep learning models could not be trained. Therefore, this dataset has been collected for developers so that they can train, test, and evaluate their algorithms and develop products for the betterment of the deaf people of Pakistan. This dataset contains images and videos of deaf people performing basic PSL signs, such as alphabets, numbers, and commonly used words from daily communication. For this reason, the dataset can also be used by people who want to learn the basics of PSL. The dataset was collected by visiting different institutes for the deaf. The deaf individuals at these institutes were asked to perform signs from a predefined list that was developed by consulting various books and sign language experts. The videos of the deaf people performing these signs were recorded and later split into useful frames to extract images. These images can then be used to train, test, and evaluate machine learning or deep learning models. This dataset has been made available in complete form and can be used by developers, deaf people, and hearing people who want to learn the basics of Pakistan Sign Language (PSL).Item Producing a sustainable plain cement concrete with use of admixture in addition to fishnet fibers(UMT.Lahore, 2021) Talha Arshad; Muhammad Usama; Fahad Mehmood; Hafiz Majid AliMany researches are being conducted worldwide regarding use of recycled aggregates for the preparation of sustainable plain cement concrete and for strengthening the RAC, fibers have been utilized as internal reinforcement for the RAC. Strengthening RAC by reinforcing it with WFN PP and Nylon fibers and use of admixture is very effective technique to make RAC durable and strong. It is well-thought-out as the most efficient and advanced method as compared to other previous experimented methods. Tests are being carried out regarding comparison of compressive strengths of 3 concrete grades (M-18, M-21 and M-25) cylinders. Following mix designs, total 42 cylinders (6×12) inches are being casted which are distributed as 6 cylinders without fiber and 18-18 cylinders having WFN PP (Polypropylene) and NF (Nylon Fiber) being incorporated in different percentages (0.25%, 0.5% and 1.5%) with respect to weight of cement and using admixture (Ultra-510). For compressive strength, cylinders are subjected to 0.25 MPa load/sec (ASTM C-39). Experimental outcomes obtained after compression testing and their comparison, also the cost estimation for cylinders being casted and their comparison are shown in the form of tables and graphs. Detailed procedure on collection of materials, preparation, testing on materials and then following mix design casting of cylinders (with and without WFN fibers) for all grades is also added. The effect on CS (Compressive Strength) by adding WFN PP and NF in different percentages, their effects on cost estimation, and durability of FRRAC (Fiber Reinforced Recycled Aggregate Concrete) with 100% recycled aggregates and its environmental positive aspects are also investigated in this research workItem Report generation system(UMT Lahore, 2015) M.
