    Design of a multi-story building
(UMT.Lahore, 2020) Fawad Rafique; Muhammad Arslan; Muhammad Umair; Muhammad Abdullah
This report summarizes the design assumptions and approach, for the StructuralDesign of Laboratory building for AR & AER - CPEC Hevellian Section. This report will cover the aspects of all necessary structural parameters required to successfully construct a stable structure. The building, with all the structural frame elements, isanalyzed by developing a three-dimensional model on ETABS. Columns and beams are modeled as line elements and slabs are modeled as "Plate". Additionally, a “Rigid diaphragm” is also assigned to each floor level (Except Plinth Level) which is basically a mass less area element with high in-plane rigidity and which has no effect on the out-of-plane slab bending properties. The total covered area for this Building is approximately 22.7 x 10.2 m2. The building occupancy comprises of Laboratory facilities for ER & AER staff. The building is reinforced concrete frame structure consisting of columns, beam and slab system supporting on isolated foundations.

Political Dimensions of Police Order 2002
    (UMT.lahore, 2020) Muhammad Umair
This research focuses on the amendments included in the Police Order 2002, and attempts to understand whether these changes were influenced by politicians, or were they geared towards public welfare. This research explores the political dimensions of police department and police reforms and the relationship between politicians and the police force through a critical analysis of political use of police. The objectives of this research state that our police are accountable for their actions, as well as being committed to uphold the democratic values of the country whilst abiding by the constitution. Therefore, the department of the police is duty bound to be professional and answerable to the citizens of Pakistan. The police order 2002 aims to turn the police force into a responsible body which could efficiently control the criminal activities in Pakistan. Several institutions were established for public oversight and for the use of the police to achieve these objectives. Another objective of the research is to evaluate whether the police is independent in Pakistan or there is any intervention on the part of politicians in the workings of the police. We also aim to understand the causes behind the amendment in the Police Order of 2002.

Product development of M-Cycle evaporative cooler based on counter cross flow heat exchanger
(UMT Lahore, 2021-08) Muhammad Umair; Osama Arshad; Abdul Hanan Ashraf
Cooling the atmospheric air through evaporative cooling to achieve comfortable thermal conditions is the cheapest and most widely applied method of cooling the air. In this study, an exhaustive investigation about the indirect evaporative cooling (IEC) has been carried out. Background, introduction, design and simulation of the M-Cycle based evaporative coolers has been accomplished and studied in detail. Indirect evaporative coolers have the potential to be the future of air conditioning world because they can provide comfortable cooled air in extremely low cost. The design of the cross-flow heat exchanger is fabricated for simulation and justification of the results comprising of 6 wet and 5 dry channels. Aluminum is used in fashioning the Heat and mass exchanger (HMX) to attain better heat transfer rates. Wick material is pasted on the walls to help the water evaporates. Water is used to cool the air, a temperature difference of 6℃ is achieved at the inlet temperature of 35℃. Temperature difference is higher when the inlet air has a higher temperature. A difference of 12-15℃ is achieved at 45℃ inlet temperature. A constant humidity is achieved in the design. A parametric study is performed on Ansys to validate the results.

    Text2talent
(UMT.Lahore, 2024) Muhammad Uzair Zahid; Muhammad Umair; Hasnat Ijaz
Text2Talent is a web application designed for recruiters to enhance the recruitment/hiring process by taking the pain of searching and finding the best suitable candidate for the job under the given criteria. It uses NLP techniques to parse the data and then some ML algorithms for ranking the resume using the parsed data with respect to the given criteria for the job. Using Text2Talent, recruiters only need to create a job, mention the criteria and share the provided link to the applicants, applicants will then submit their data using the link and the rest of the work is on our system to search and find the eligible candidates.
