Item An analysis of english oral communication skills after successful transition from primary to elementary level(UMT.Lahore, 2019) Muhammad Naveed AkhtarThe research aims to find out the successful transition from primary to elementary level in English oral communication skills. The present study discusses that the Government of Pakistan fixed a standard for development of English oral communication skills for all primary level students in public and private schools at the completion of primary level schooling. This study was descriptive in nature. Objects of the study were to compare the successful transition between private and public schools in English oral communication skills. To compare the successful transition between male and female students in English oral communication skills. To compare the successful transition between rural and urban students in English oral communication skills. Detailed literature review depicted that students of primary level made a successful transition in English oral communication skills especially urban students are good at English oral communication skills. The students at primary level have high tendency towards English oral communication skills. Convenient sampling technique was applied to select and approach the respondents. The elementary schools of District Okara were secreted of this research. It was also not possible to select all the elementary school of district Okara. Only 12 elementary schools of District Okara form urban and rural area were selected. There were 120 students in the research as sample. Test of 25 questions was conducted to all students. Data were collected through an audio recorded device named as an analysis of English oral communication skill (EOCS) and transcribed later. The data were analyzed through MS- Excel 2010 and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Both the descriptive and inferential statistics were used for analysis and interpretation of data. Analysis of data were done in two parts i.e. descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Frequency distributions were used to describe the students’ responses on four-point rating scale while independent sample T-test was used to describe significant difference in demographic variable (Nominal level). A significant difference was found between male and female Students in English oral communication skills, female students were more interested to improve their English oral communication skill. It was also found that majority of urban students had good command at English oral communication skills. It was also concluded that private students were more fluent in English oral communication skills than public sector students. The Government of Pakistan may provide facilities to the teachers to develop English oral communication skills of primary level students for successful transition to elementary level. The government may bring change in teaching mythology and introduce some of the changes in curriculum with focus on the development of English oral communication skills. Key words.
