Item Modern traffic signal controller with density checker and multiple operative modes(UMT.Lahore, 2014) Muhammad Naeem Akhtar; Jawwd Tariq; Muhammad JunaidMODERN TRAFFIC CONTROLLER BASED ON DENSITY AND PRIORITY MODE is a system which is surely going to help our government to solve the traffic flow issue. In our country use of private vehicles is getting higher day by day and this is causing problem to traffic controller to monitor the flow. Our signal system will help traffic controllers to easily monitor the overall flow of traffic and its density at several points. Due to proper use of this system we can reduce the accidents level and traffic flow will also smooth without any traffic jam due to emergency services or VIP protocols. Traffic is formally organized in many jurisdictions, with marked lanes, junctions, intersections, interchanges, traffic signals, or signs. Traffic is often classified by type: heavy motor vehicle (e.g., car, truck); other vehicle (e.g., moped, bicycle); and pedestrian. Different classes may share speed limits and easement, or may be segregated. Some jurisdictions may have very detailed and complex rules of the road. One of the main problems in our country is traffic, this project proposed new solution to traffic control. The main designing concept of this project is to control traffic automatically and adding human inelegancy to that automatic controller. “Four Way” intersection is the most common configuration for roads that cross each other, and the most basic type. If signals do not control a 4-way intersection, signs or other features are typically used to control movements and make clear priorities. In this project we are going to used IR communication to analyze traffic density. IR signals from IR receiver are given to microcontroller which is then used to generate results according to the flow of traffic. For better result we are going to use some bunch of IR transmitter and receivers in all direction. For IR communication we are using IR transmitter and receiver. As we know that microcontroller having inbuilt I/O ports and for controlling of traffic we are using red, green and yellow LED’s.these LED’s are connected to microcontroller in a wat that when there is heavy traffic on one road then microcontroller will give signals to green LED of that particular signal and that light will glow up and at that same point previous signal and all other signal will be red.
