Olympic data analysis and medal predictor
(UMT, Lhr, 2023) Muhammad Nouman Naeem; Muhammad Adan Ijelal; Muhammad Haseeb Azhar
The objective of this project is to create a machine learning model for forecasting medal prediction at the Olympic Games. To achieve this goal, historical data spanning from 1900 to 2016 will be gathered from various Olympic events. Data was collected from Kaggle website. The focus will be on dataset analysis, employing data mining techniques for data quality enhancement, and using refined data for machine learning model training. Subsequently, model performance will be assessed by testing it on a subset of the same dataset used for training. The study will encompass athlete performance, historical trends, medal distribution, and participation rates analysis. Through this data analysis, valuable insights and patterns will be uncovered, contributing to a deeper understanding of the Olympics. These insights will help identify success factors, predict future outcomes, and assess the social and cultural impacts of the Games.
