    Bake my day
(UMT, Lhr, 2023) Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi; Saif Ali; Muhammad Afzal
By redefining the traditional e-commerce paradigm and becoming a place where sweet dreams come true, the "Bake My Day" Online Bakery project. With its mouthwatering variety of cakes, cupcakes, pastries, and donuts, the Custom Design Page is the project's main novelty. Customers can now realize their imaginative ideas thanks to this exclusive function, which makes it easier to choose flavors, add images, and carefully build customized masterpieces. The project is designed to be seamless, guiding users through a smooth experience from treat selection to order tracking and guaranteeing on-time and satisfying deliveries. "Bake My Day" is a perfect example of how technology and creative cooking can work together to transform the digital bakery industry.

Design & implementation digital liquid level control system using microcontroller
(UMT.Lahore, 2013) Muhammad Nadeem Hussain; Muhammad Afzal; Hafiz Zaheer Hussain; Arusha Azhar
Digital Liquid Level Control System” as cleared by its name that this project is digitally controlled through the digital microcontrollers such as PIC16F877A. The aim of this project is to maintain the fluid level in the tanks by using the techniques of microcontroller. Instead of analogue the digital control is carried out through the microcontrollers by developing their algorithms and using the feed-back by the appropriate sensors. Coupled-tanks model which resembles the model of the chemical or mixing process plant is used to evaluate the performance of digital liquid level control system under various conditions. Simulation work is carried out using MATLAB® and Proteus to control the modeled nonlinear coupled tanks using the microcontroller algorithm. It is also utilized to show that the controller can produce the appropriate control signals to the coupled tank system’s control devices to control the liquid level in the presence of plant nonlinearity, disturbance and measurement noise. Basically in this project there are three main fields of work, mathematical work related to this project, simulation work and hardware developing of the project. Initially the mathematical work will be completed then simulation and at the end the hardware will be implemented. At the end the results will be compared of the simulated work with the real developed hardware.

    OCR Translator
(UNIVERSITY OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, 2015) Amir Sattar; Muhammad Ismail; Suneela Zulfiqar; Shahzad Shafique; Muhammad Afzal
The major focus of our application is to translate languages into native language for the ease of tourist and travelers. This app will help tourists to navigate easily in a foreign environment. Most of technologies such as electronic dictionary and other translation services cost traveler's time and effort to retrieve the meaning of certain words. Hence, those travelers are looking for alternative way for translating the text contents, which can be detected by machine translation services for mobile devices. To address this problem, we are developing the mobile phone application that capable of acquiring an image of the text, locating the region of interest (where text is specified) within the image, and translate extracted text into user-desired language.

The impact of orientalism on the representation of power relations in Africa
    (UMT, Lahore, 2023) Muhammad Afzal
This research examines the impact of Orientalism on power dynamics in South Africa, based on J.M. Coetzee's novel Waiting for the Barbarians. This research focuses on the theory of Orientalism presented by Edward Said. The study takes a qualitative approach, using textual analysis and theoretical frameworks to discover examples of Orientalist tropes and their impact on power dynamics. These themes indicate the underlying power mechanisms that maintain the colonial power's rule. The objective of this research is to suggest that Orientalist ideas contribute to the dehumanization and marginalization of indigenous Africans while supporting the colonial regime's authority to expand their empire. The study focuses on the subtle strategies that Orientalists use to maintain power relations, such as imposing cultural norms, controlling resources, and justifying violence. This exploration reveals how Orientalist discourses in Waiting for the Barbarians maintain power imbalances through critically engaging with the text. It investigates how these discourses describe repressive acts, such as resource exploitation, forced assimilation, and physical violence against indigenous peoples. The study also looks at the implications of Orientalism on both the colonizers and the colonized as they become entangled in a power dynamic defined by domination and subordination. The aim of this research is to examine how Orientalism promotes power disparities in Africa, as represented in Coetzee's novel. It looks at how Africa is portrayed as the Other, how indigenous traditions are exoticized, and how the colonizer is portrayed as the civilizing force.

    Weaving maintenance department
    (UMT.Lahore, 2000) Muhammad Afzal
I was assigned to compile an internship report based on my three months internship inNishat Chimian Weaving (NCL). The NCL Weaving unit was established in 1998 andis situated at 49-Km Multan road Lahore.I spent my three months with maintenance and article teams, so my main focus in thisreport is on the maintenance of looms and on article change. The process ofmaintenance and article is given with full details. No doubt, the mill has verycompetent staff in all departments but there is not any significant use of Total QualityManagement (TQM) tools in any department of NCL. The staff of NCL must trainabout the use of TQM tools and implementation. So that they can identify their weakareas and can improve them. The detailed suggestions are given in the report aboutthe fabric faults and overhauling. I am also suggesting them to arrange refreshercourses for their employees so that the owner can get maximum out put of them.
