Contemporary challenges of Islamic education in the Muslim world
    (UMT Lahore, 2024-03-20) Momina Maghfoor
Islamic education has evolved over centuries to meet Muslims’ spiritual, moral, intellectual, and social demands. Education in the Muslim world, particularly Islamic education, has received a lot of attention in recent years because of the apparent link between these issues and worries about development and security in the Muslim world and abroad. This study investigates the historical roots of Islamic education, its primary purposes, and the obstacles it faces in the modern era. The issues include creating a balance between tradition and modernization, addressing gender parity, developing critical thinking, dealing with extremism, and integrating technology. The conclusion suggests a focus on curriculum reform, teacher training, quality assurance, and the introduction of critical thinking and digital integration. It also finishes on the changing character of Islamic education, emphasizing its role in sharing appropriate persons who are strong in their faith while managing contemporary situations. In this research, a brief is given to the Government of Pakistan recommending a few practical initiatives and tactics for promoting Islamic education in the Muslim world.
