Item Use of waste fishnets as fibers for strengthening plain cement concrete(UMT.Lahore, 2021) Umar Ahmed Khan; M. Adil Iqbal; Waqas Rauf; Moiz Ahmad KhanMany researches are being conducted worldwide regarding use of Waste Fishnet fibers for the preparation of sustainable plain cement concrete and for strengthening the composites, fibers have been utilized as internal reinforcement for this composite. Strengthening PRC by reinforcing it with WFN Nylon fibers is a great technique of strengthening the composite. It is well-thought-out as the most efficient and advanced method as compared to other previous experimented methods A total of 36 samples were prepared to perform compression test. Nylon based waste fishnet fibers were used in this procedure. Compression tests were performed at 7 days and at 28 days. For Compression testing the ASTM standard that we referred to was ASTM C39/C39M. All of the test sample condition were set up according to the guidelines written in this ASTM standard. The loading rate that we used was 0.25 MPa/s with variance up to ± 0.05 MPa/s. Experimental outcomes obtained after compression testing and their comparison, also the cost estimation for cylinders being casted and their comparison are shown in the form of tables and graphs. Detailed procedure on collection of materials, preparation, testing on materials and then following mix design casting of cylinders (with and without WFN fibers) for all grades is also added
