Item Art of governance in state of exception:(UMT Lahore, 2023) Maryam KhalidThis research explores Ghassan Kanafani’s collection, Palestine’s Children: Returning to Haifa and Other Stories by using the theory of necropolitics proposed by Achille Mbembe. According to Mbembe necropolitics is the state’s ability to dictate general population to the extent that their autonomy is negated by continually exposing them to death on a public scale. This research charts out the key concepts of Mbembe’s theory of necropolitics that are traced in the Kanafani’s work. The necropolitical processes of mass reduction of Palestinian population to the status of ‘living dead’ and eventually morphing their living area into a ‘death world’ are addressed. This research aims to assess Kanafani’s portrayal of territory of Palestine as a ‘state of exception’ presented in Palestine’s Children. The state of exception is the condition in which government terminates the rule of law apparently for the sake of protection of public. It is investigated that how the work of Kanafani unravels the deeper structure of state apparatuses to create a world of separation specifically designed to control the daily life of its subject. The current rereading of the Kanafani’s text upholds and justifies that these fifteen stories are not just scripts of trauma and suffering but they also manifest Mbembe’s insights regarding necropower. Hence, this research assists in examining the cultural and political subjugation of Palestinians through the delineation of necropolitical tools employed by Israeli-settler Empire to exercise and regulate power.Item Fashion District(University of Management and Technology, 2018) Maryam KhalidPakistanis so rich in culture so as in fashion but internationally it has not been perceived as much about it. Pakistanfashion industry has no identity like Paris city of lights. When a person thinks about any country or nation the initial couple of things strikes its mind is its way of life, culture, architecture and local fashion. The area of Pakistanhas been attacked previously, possessed and settled by extensive variety of people, including Dravidians, Aryans, Greeks, White Huns, Persians, Arabs, Turks, Mongols and different Eurasian gatherings. There are contrasts in culture among the distinctive ethnic gatherings in issues, for example, dress, nourishment, and religion, particularly where pre-Islamic traditions vary from Islamic practices. The essential starting point of Pakistanis however originates from the human advancements of North India and eastern Afghanistan, with noteworthy impacts from Persia, Turkestan and Hellenistic Greece. There is immense change in textile of Pakistanthrough these ages which has not been recorded properly. Development and changes by the time in styles of clothes, equipment and techniques of craftsmen should be kept in archives and displayed in a way to represent Pakistan. On the other hand Pakistanbeing a producer of goods has raw materials, and all the talent like textile engineers, fashion designers, craftsmen and many more, all it needs is a place to gather them all at one place and make the best out of it. This could give a better chance for flourishing fashion industry internationally.Item Master moltyfoam(University of Management and Technology, 2015) Abdul Hanan Khan; Maryam KhalidThe main purpose of this website is to increase the amount of sales we make from our business by going online. With the increasing size and complexity of university campuses, it often becomes challenging for students, visitors, and staff to locate departments, offices, and faculty members' workspaces efficiently. This project addresses these challenges by creating an interactive platform that provides precise navigation, shortest route suggestions, and real-time updates. The system leverages modern web technologies, including React for the frontend and Node.js with Express for the backend. Data is stored and managed in a MySQL database. Features such as an interactive map, user authentication, and the ability to customize routes ensure a seamless user experience. The project focuses on simplifying campus navigation while promoting time efficiency and enhancing overall user satisfaction. This comprehensive solution not only improves accessibility within the UMT campus but also sets a foundation for scalable and adaptable navigation systems that can be implemented in other university environments. Through this project, we aim to provide a robust, efficient, and scalable platform that redefines campus navigation.Item ZENTANGLE(UMT,LAHORE, 2022) Maryam Khalid‘Zentangle’ is a wearable innovation dedicated to the modern women to transform fashion and incorporate cultural values that bring the best out of them.
