SYNTHESIS OF Fe DOPED ZnO COMPOSITE WITH SULPHUR DOPED GRAPHITIC CARBON NITRIDE AND THEIR POTENTIAL APPLICATION
    (UMT.Lahore, 2019) MUHAMMAD RIAZ
Increasing population of the world is facing challenge of insufficient clean water because of threats coming from high demand of clean water and lower supply. So in order to overcome the contamination of water by dyes, huge work has been done. In this study Fe-ZnO composite with Sulphur doped g-C3N4 have been synthesized. The optical properties of ZnO photocatalyst were enhanced with different percent doping concentrations of Fe+3. Fe doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized with no use of surfactant or capping agent through sol gel method and combustion method was used to synthesize S doped g-C3N4. The synthesized composite shows better methylene blue dye (MB) degradation than ZnO and Fe-ZnO in visible region of light. Composite photocatalytic activity is determined from UV-vis spectrum and can be seen in the graph. It can be used to treat effluent containing colorants and other contaminants coming from textile, paint, paper industries etc. Composite is excellent candidate for dye and other contaminant removal. Synthesized Composite is characterized by using the FTIR technique and peaks confirm the composite (Fe-ZnO/S doped g-C3N4 ) formation and photocatalytic activity was comparison from UV-Vis data.
