Item Smart data transfer(UMT, Lahore, 2020) MUHAMMAD RAMZAN BASHIR, MUHAMMAD ZUBAIR RASOOL and MUHAMMAD FAIZANWe manipulate a lot of Data in form of movies, music, and documents daily. Often, we need to share this data of different types among smart phones. We might have bought new smart phone and want to copy data from old smart phone to new one. Or we might want to send some data to our friend’s smart phone. The easiest and less costly way of sharing data among android smart phones is use of data sharing applications. There are many different applications for sharing data on android play store like SHAREit, ZAPYA and Samsung Smart Switch etc. But these apps are either slow due to their intermediate source to transfer data. Such as SHAREit and ZPYA uses hotspot as an intermediate to transfer data, so, they are slow. Some of these apps are for specific company phones only. Such as Samsung Smart Switch works properly only for Samsung smart phones. We have developed an android application for fast data sharing. It can also transfer data among android smart phones of all companies. The technology we are using for this kind of fast transfer is peer to peer Wi-Fi Direct. Our application allow sender to launch files directory and select data. Then sender and receiver can initiate discovery to find each other. Once, sender and receiver smart phones has found each other, then they can establish a peer-to-peer connection. Once connection is established the sender will click on send button to start data transfer. Progress of data transfer will also be indicated with progress bar and percentage as well. Once data is transferred, it can be seen in root directory. We have passed this application from a series of tests, and it passed all the tests. We will launch this application to the play store. We are sure that this application will be useful addition in the world of data transfer applications.
