Item DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF CRACK DETECTION SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE(UMT, Lahore, 2019) MUHAMMAD ASIMIn this report there is a proposed solution of how can a crack be detected by image processing. Cracks on the external sides of the metal are one of the most initial signs of the degradation of the surface, the presence of these cracks can be led to structure failure. So, these cracks need to detected at time. Physical examination of the external surface of metal is the conventional technique to detect the cracks. As, manual technique or manual approach totally based on staff’s knowledge, it can be lack at some moments. Therefore, the chances of some cracks get undetected are huge. So, a crack detection using image processing technique is proposed as a replacement of manual method. In this report, literature presents the previous different methods for crack detection. After detailed study of previous works a new technique is proposed which can play an important role in airline industry. Different types of crack scan be detected using image processing. In this report cracks of different taxonomies will be first converted to grayscale from RGB through our proposed algorithms and then from grayscale edge detection techniques will be applied to identify its edges. After edge detection of digital image algorithms has been applied to find crack and crack can be find by pixel breakage. In this report, implementation of algorithms has been done and experimental results are also attached to confirm the end results of this proposed approach.Item Workplace ostracism(UMT.Lahore, 2023) ASHRA ABDUL RAZZAQ; MUHAMMAD ASIM; SADAF MUHAMMAD ZUBAIRThis study explores the impact of workplace ostracism on job performance, psychological well-being, and turnover intention among teaching employees of higher educational institutes. The study synthesizes existing research on the topic and provides a comprehensive understanding of how workplace ostracism affects employees' outcomes. A survey was conducted to collect data from a sample of 300 teaching staff serving at state universities in Lahore. The data was gathered using a quantitative technique through a questionnaire, and a convenience sampling technique was used to select the participants. The Scale Workplace Ostracism (Ferris et al., 2008), Individual Workplace Performance Questionnaire (Koopmans, 2019), Psychological Well-Being (Ryff et al., 2010), and Turnover Intention (Roodt, 2004) was used to evaluate the results. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS software version 25. Findings suggest that workplace ostracism negatively affects job performance and psychological well-being and positively affects turnover intention. Moreover, results indicated significant gender differences in terms of workplace ostracism, job performance and psychological well being and indicated non-significant gender differences in turnover intention. These effects are amplified when ostracism repeatedly occurs, intensifying the negative impact on employees. The study emphasizes the importance of teachers in higher educational institutes in addressing workplace ostracism and creating a positive work environment that supports employees' well-being and performance.
