    Visible light communication Li-Fi
(UMT Lahore, 2021-01) M. Hamza Ramzan; M. Asad Mehdi; Suleman Ahmad Butt
Visible Light Communication (VLC) has been focused by many researchers over past decades due to its advantages over Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum. One of the most rapidly evolving area in VLC is the indoor localization as it can provide pin-point positioning and reduces error by significant amount when compared with Global Positioning System (GPS). This paper aims at designing an indoor positioning system by analyzing different positioning techniques and algorithms. Detailed design of warehouse is discussed in which VLC localization system is deployed. The system works by modulation LEDs at different frequencies. These frequencies are then detected at receiver end and an algorithm then works to locate the receiver in the regions of the field i.e., warehouse. The practical challenges of VLC localization, its design, structure and working are discussed along with the experiments performed. Finally, the results are discussed in detail to demonstrate the reliability of VLC localization system.
