The impact of conflict management ability of a project manager to ensure project success
    (UMT Lahore, 2023) Humsa Asif
A project is temporary in nature, it has a specific start and ending date and it produces unique product, service or results (Project Management Institute & Project Management Institute, n.d.). Over the passing years, three different views have been evolved about conflicts in projects and organizations (Caputo et al., 2019a), one of the kinds is the Traditional view stating that conflict is always negative in nature bringing disaster, it hinders the project’s performance, it brings irrationality and must be avoided. The solution to it is to reduce, suppress or eliminate it but it did not work often because the problem remains unidentified. The project manager on the other hand is responsible for aligning the projects and organizational objectives and to effectively plan the tasks and resources for meeting the timeline of project. To identify, assess and mitigate conflicts/risks at the right time can prevent the project managers from falling into the pit, this can be done when the project manager has an outstanding relationship with the team members to communicate the key responsibilities of every individual for achieving the project outcomes (Lo Presti et al., 2021). A PBO is characterized by a focus on organizing activities around specific projects rather than traditional functional divisions. In an IT context, this means building teams to tackle specific projects, such as software development, IT infrastructure improvements, or digital transformation efforts (Waseem et al., 2022). One of the defining characteristics of PBOs in IT is the formation of temporary teams. These groups, often cross-functional, are created for the duration of a particular project and often disband when the project is completed PBOs can effectively manage and align stakeholder expectations, thereby significantly contributing to project success. The IT industry has been profoundly shaped by the adoption and development of project-based organizations. This structure ushered in an era of agility, innovation and a strong focus on customer needs. As the IT landscape continues to evolve rapidly, the role and nuance of the PBO is expected to adapt with it.
