    Centre for juvenile delinquents
(University of Management and Technology Lahore, 2017) Haider Ali
Criminal behavior in juveniles is hard to describe using a definition. Since no agreed definition can be found. But the anti-social acts and behavior of youngsters is often regarded as juvenile delinquency. Adulthood starts from 18 years of age and above, a person who commits a crime and is of or under 18 years of age is termed as a juvenile delinquent. Over centuries, the role of a prison has been that of a dark dungeon, implementing cruel punishments. This has not only made the crime graph go higher but has also destroyed countless lives. This report focuses on rehabilitation through architecture, employing environmental psychology and corrections through humane treatment of the prisoners while not compromising on security. Further, presents an insight in the conditions that prevail, and the number of juvenile prisons in Punjab, Pakistan. The data provides a detailed insight to the facilities provided, design patterns, security and counselling in the juvenile prisons. It further provides a proposed design for a juvenile prison to be built in Lahore, Pakistan. Juvenile schools or prisons lack in number in our country as compared to the crime ratio and they are important as the common incarceration of adults and juveniles together can lead to a greater chance of negative influence on the minors. Punjab has the highest percentage of juvenile offenders in the country and still there is not a single court dedicated exclusively to juvenile cases. Furthermore, there are only 2 juvenile prisons in Punjab which are long-standing and are least suitable for such facilities.

Design and fabrication of shaft drive mechanism for smooth and efficient transmission of power from pedals to rear wheel of a bicycle
(UMT Lahore, 2021-08) Haider Ali; Arham Awan; Mirza Tahir
Bicycles have been a pollutant free source of locomotion since a long period of time. Using human energy and converting it into torque for the movement. Chain drives have been pretty common in bicycles and have overruled all other drive mechanisms. The adherence to one system can be non-evolutionary from a perspective. A new power transmission mechanism has been studied which can be proved to be more efficient than a traditional chain drive system. A Shaft driven chainless system is discussed in this report, which completely replaces all the working elements of a traditional bicycle. The system has been analyzed numerically and theoretically. Using SOLIDWORKS a new gear and pinion mechanism has been designed according to the machining resources available and studied analytically using ANSYS. Experimentation has been performed which concludes that the proposed system can be very efficient.

(UMT Lahore, 2020-09) Bilal Azhar; SachalRiaz Khan; Haider Ali
With the increase in air pollution and the depletion of crude oil resources, it has become necessary to take measures to control these issues. Over time, toxic emissions from vehicles have played a vital role in air pollution. To address these challenges, the world has adopted alternatives to crude oil consumption, and electric vehicles have emerged as a solution. With this perspective, we have designed an electric bike. Several advancements in the electric vehicle industry, such as the development of lithium-ion batteries, have made the shift towards electric vehicles and bikes easier. We have designed the electric bike and optimized its frame to make it more efficient and comfortable.
