Item Design and development of a 5 DOF autonomous exoskeleton arm for enhanced rehabilitation of paralyzed patients(UMT Lahore, 2024-08-13) Muhammad Ammar Arshad; Muhammad Bilal Asad; Ghulam HaiderWith an increase in the population of the world and a vast majority of them aging with the passage of time we need improved methods of rehabilitation. Advancements in the field of robotics has caused massive advancements in the field of biomechanical rehabilitation. Exoskeletons can allow for improvements in the field of rehabilitation by not only reducing the strain on the patients but also reduce the strain felt by physiotherapists. ARULE (Adjustable Rehabilitation Upper Limb Exoskeleton) is an exoskeleton designed for the purpose of rehabilitation while having the versatility to provide physiotherapy for all body types. The exoskeleton design is also portable which makes it a viable option for physiotherapy at home. The Design will utilize a Linear actuator for the adjustment of its arms height. The design will be driven by Servo Motors and will provide us 5 DOF. The exoskeleton will also contain batteries inside in case of a lack of power supply or emergencies. The design will also contain proximity sensors for an emergency shutdown in case the motion exceeds the set parameters.Item Factors affecting parental choices for prigate school as compared to public school(University of Management and Technology, 2013) Ghulam HaiderNot available.Item Factors affecting parental choices for private school as compared to public school(UMT, Lahore, 2013) Ghulam HaiderItem Teachers practices for guidance and career counseling at secondary school level for students(UMT.Lahore, 2015) Ghulam HaiderEveryone has been bestowed with different qualities by God. The selection of educational and professional career as per one’s personality, skills, and interest is the key to success in life. Unfortunately, there is no adequate system existing in Pakistani schools for proper guidance relevant to career counseling for the students as per their needs in majority of the schools except some schools who charged high fees. As a result, students choose those subjects which do not relate to their mental aptitudes. Many years are wasted due to this issue, and studies become a burden for students. In the context of Pakistan where literacy rate is low and many people don’t have adequate exposure to different careers and fields, it is difficult for parents to make the right decision for their child and as a result children are forced to study the subjects of their parents’ choice, or they are left at the disposal of others. Due to these reasons there is a need of proper guidance and career counseling for students at school level. The main objective of the study was to explore how schools are providing guidance and career counseling to their students for their better future direction. For this purpose a questionnaire was developed by the researcher. The scope of the study was delimited to all the private schools of Walton area of Lahore Cantt. The participants of the study were school teachers. Two hundred and fifty (250) questionnaires were distributed in different schools of Walton. With the help of SPSS, the researcher computed frequencies, applied t-test, chi-square, analyze the data and interpreted it. The results showed that the schools are paying attention to their students’ grooming and counseling them for their better future but there are some areas that need to be improved which are mentioned in the last section of the study.
