Item Fear of progression(UMT.Lahore, 2023) GHULAM ZAHRAThe study was conducted to find the impact of fear of progression and perceived social support on medication adherence in adults with diabetes mellitus. It was hypothesized that there is likely to be a relationship between fear of progression, perceived social support and medication adherence in adults with diabetes mellitus type I. It was also hypothesized that medication adherence is likely to be predict in adults with diabetes mellitus type I. A qualitative survey questionnaire was conducted to collect data from 150 participants (Males= 87 and Females= 63) with age 40 and above years (M= 54.55, SD= 7.41). Fear of progression-SF (FoP-SF), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS) were the scales used in the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics was used to get results. Findings showed positive relationship between fear of progression, perceived social support and medication adherence. Furthermore, it was found that medication adherence was better in adults with diabetes mellitus type I. Findings of this study will help raise awareness regarding the fear of disease progression in diabetics along with an emphasis on perceived social support to enhance well-being of individuals.
