Item Developing a technique for face recognition using pca.(UMT.Lahore, 2016) FatimaFace recognition has been an active area of research with numerous applications since late 1980s. In this paper, different approaches for face recognition along with PCA approach are discussed. There are two major categories under which different approaches fall, that are feature based recognition and principal component analysis. Principal component analysis; based on information theory concepts, seek a computational model that best describes a face which is done by extracting the most relevant information contained in the face. Eigen face approach also uses principal component analysis method; in which a small set of characteristic pictures are used to describe the variation among different face images eigen face approach is one of the earliest appearance-based face recognition methods, which was developed by M. Turk and A. Pentland [1] in 1991. A face recognition system, based on the eigen face approach is proposed with minimization of dimensions. Eigen face approach is an adequate method to be used in face recognition due to its simplicity, speed and learning capability. A number of different scenarios were created to evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm for efficient face recognition. The proposed system attempts to minimization of memory consumption. The results also demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is quite robust to head/face orientation but sensitive to different illumination ratios. At the end of thesis, a couple of ways are also suggested to improve the recognition rate. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the variability of the proposed face recognition method.Item Industrial smart camera(UMT Lahore, 2022) Fatima; Aatiqa Saleem; Muhammad Akbar KhanThe system first sense the flowing product on conveyor belt under the U shaped wooden box with illuminations. The IR sensor is attached with the raspberry pi 4. The sensor send the signals to pi camera and pi camera captured the product from above, where expiry date of product is written. Then the captured image is processed by applying algorithms and Ai techniques whether the expiry date is readable and logical or not. and then it will generate output/label. Expired product will be discarded by the worker and fresh product will flow further, same case is with printing and designing.Item Sleep duration, social support and life satisfaction among hostilities and non-hostilities university students(UMT.Lahore, 2023) Fatima; Liaqat AbbasThe aim of the research was to investigate the relationship between sleep duration, social support and life satisfaction among hostilities and non-hostilities. The purpose of this study was to check which students are more satisfied in life, hostilities or non-hostilities. Scales used in this research were social support, sleep duration and life satisfaction. Quantitative research was conducted on the university students where 200 students participated in this research and the results were drawn using the SPSS. Findings suggested that sleep duration and life satisfaction displayed as negative indicators between one another. Social support demonstrated the positive relationship with life satisfaction. Social support, sleep duration and life satisfaction were indicated high in hostilities as compared to non-hostilities. Females scored high in sleep duration and males essentially scored high in social support and life satisfaction. Limitations and recommendations for further research were discussed further.Item Sleep pro(UMT, Lahore, 2018) Muniza Hammad; FatimaItem UNDERSTANDING AND ADDRESSING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN; IMPACT OF EDUCATION AND CULTURE IN LAHORE, PAKISTAN(UMT, Lahore, 2023) FatimaThe aim of this research is to investigate the correlation between low level of education, culture/community norms and violence against women. Violence against women is a central issue for a long time. Research data were collected throughout cross sectional method and sample consisted of 384 households. The data were interpreted using SPSS. The Result of this investigation indicated a notable correlation exists between violence against women and factors such as limited education levels, cultural/community norms. These insights hold valuable implications for informing future recommendations directed at policymakers.
