This thesis explores the abstract dimensions of Mexican art, delving into its cultural significance, societal dynamics, and artistic innovation. At its core, Mexican art embodies a rich fusion of Indigenous traditions and European influences, shaped by centuries of conquest, colonization, and cultural exchange. From the Olmec, Maya, and Aztecs to contemporary movements, this research traces the enduring legacy of Mexican art, highlighting its iconography, symbolism, and rituals. The colonial period saw the emergence of mestizo art, characterized by hybridity and syncretism, while the 20th century witnessed a renaissance of Mexican art, fueled by national identity, social revolution, and artistic experimentation. This thesis showcases the Mexican Muralist movement, abstraction, and surrealism, featuring iconic artists like Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, José Clemente Orozco, Rufino Tamayo, and Frida Kahlo. Contemporary artists like Manuel Felguérez and Gabriel Orozco are also highlighted, demonstrating the ongoing evolution of Mexican art. Through its rich tapestry of color, shape, and symbolism, Mexican art transcends borders, speaking to the universal human experience. This research aims to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Mexican art, inviting readers to embark on a cultural odyssey of discovery and exploration. The collection of images, which helped in defining the subjects of interest, served as the start for the entire research process. Mexican art have been used as a tool for element development. The sketches impart elaborated designs. The elements have been used to create innovative design compositions. The complete fabric design stage consists of three major processes, beginning with the creation of compositions and repeat patterns, followed by the paints, and then converted into fabric sampling. In fabric sampling, exceptional textile techniques were applied.
