    Kinect interactive event board (KIEB)
(University of Management and Technology, 2014) Muhammad Waleed Sehgal; Muneeb-Ur-Rehman Khan; Arooj Iqbal
Education is of great importance for the development of any country, especially underdeveloped countries, lacking state of the art facilities in schools and colleges. High ranked educational institutes all over the world use the latest but expensive technologies in classrooms to enhance effective and efficient learning environment such as an Interactive board. This equipment certainly provides many features to aid teachers and students during and even after the lectures but it is not affordable for many organizations. The idea behind KIEB is to replace the pricey Interactive boards in the classrooms with our low cost computer application named Kinect based Interactive Event Board. Firstly, we have elaborated inventions in the presentation techniques from the recent past till today, highlighting their pros and cons, and then discussed our application goals, design and features in detail. The application uses Kinect, an input device from Microsoft, for recognizing user's gestures to invoke any functionality user selects like writing, highlighting, and annotating on the canvases etc. The application testing for the usability and experienced goals mentioned here is conducted using different techniques.
