    This is an era of quality management and quality is a parameter for the selection of a product or service because the customer wants a defects free product or service. Quality management system is a tool of quality that is used to reduce the number of defects. In the last three decades, it helped several companies to enhance the capability of their processes and to increase the level of quality of their product or service. This based research project deals with application of Quality management system to reduce the wastage for process improvement. The research project defines the introduction, characteristics, methodologies, benefits, challenges and tools and techniques of Quality management system and also point outs the main factors for implementing a successful Quality management system project.
