According to results of the correlation and regression study Body Shaming showed that Body Shaming had a significant Positive relation with Resilience. In addition, the study revealed that Resilience was negatively correlated with Negative Identity and positively correlated with Positive Identity. Whereas, Linear Regression showed that Identity and Resilience both predicted a relationship with Body Shaming. t-test findings showed that boys had high tendencies for Body shaming than the girls. In addition, participants of 1st year reported high resilience tendencies as compared to 2nd year ones. Moreover, the students studying in the private institutes have the higher tendencies toward the body shaming than those studying in government institutes. The findings were discussed in Pakistani context and have important implications for every college student belonging from any cultural and socio economic background. Identifying the effect of identity and resilience for the vulnerability to body shaming, it may act as buffer for reducing the vulnerability of becoming victim of body shaming along with reducing the chances for mental health disorders. For eliminating body shaming in Pakistan, it requires a change in cultural attitudes and the elevation of holistic well-being above superficial beauty standards and societal norms. Limitations of the research includes, the findings of the study could not apply to adolescents who do not attend college. By concentrating primarily on college students, body shaming may be ignored for early adolescents as well as adults. Future research should consider school population and the labor adolescents those who might face a larger number of advertise and challenges in their daily life. This study also sheds light on the adverse effects of body shaming on a person's psychological, Physiological and emotional health which are grave, which can be reduced if adolescent is provided healthy parenting and emotional support from parents and peers that ultimately boosts children’s higher self-esteem, self-confidence, positive identity and stronger resilience.
