Use of soil repellent finish on cotton fabric
(University of Management and Technology, 2014) Rashid Bashir, Muhammad; Bilal Hanif; Ahmad Majeed
In this project we are going apply soil repellent finish on the basic one by one plain weave bleached cotton fabric. We selected this topic for the project just because in our daily life we wash our fabric to remove satins which decrease the life of fabric and detergents are also cause of environmental pollution. We are going to apply the finish which also provides water and oil resistance so fabric resists water borne and oil borne soils. After applying finish we can easily remove soil by only cleaning the fabric by hand, water bore stains can also easily removed by only cleaning or dry cleaning and oil borne soil can be remove house hold laundry. The finish we are going to apply also increase the life of fabric. We will apply finish by padding and then pass fabric through durable press. To check breakage strength, elongation and air permeability we performed tests in highly equipped lab.
