(UMT.Lahore, 2025) Qadeesa Latif; Abida Bibi
The current study aimed to predict the relationship between dark triad, trauma, and emotion regulation in university students. According, to first hypothesis, there is likely to be a relationship between dark triad, trauma, and emotion regulation. Dark triad and trauma will likely to predict emotion regulation in university students. Probability sampling technique was used to collect data from 160 university students including both genders (male =88; female = 72), with age range 18-28 years. The measures included the Dark triad scale, traumatic event questionnaire, and emotion regulation questionnaire. The result showed positive relationship between Machiavellianism and emotion regulation in both gender. Furthermore, negative relationship was found between trauma and emotion regulations. The findings will be beneficial for the university students to enhance their emotion regulation in order to improve their academic performance by managing their trauma. The finding can also be used by the students counsellor to deal with their trauma.
