The present thesis proposes a sole design proposal with an aim of Recreational Hub of Community Interaction in the premises of Kanaan Park, Sahiwal, Punjab Pakistan. This proposal is regarding usage of a non utilize park to a vibrant and encompassing park which shall be focused towards the needs in recreation of the surrounding society in Sahiwal. But Kanaan Park is located in one of the core portion of Sahiwal city which can be easily approached by people and also the smaller villages along Sahiwal also could be reached. It has been ignored over the years without facilities and proper infrastructure. This Thesis is devoted to the renewal of the park by the means of sustainable design strategies. The given Design is separated into the various primary areas. It will comprise Sports and Fitness Zone and has space both inside and out to do different sports activities. The Community Zone which is going to offer areas of collection and meeting rooms where the community can interact. There will be recreational zone with playgrounds, picnic areas and rest places. Finally, there will be the Cultural Zone which will present the heritage of Pakistan in the form of various art galleries and performance stages. These four neighborhoods shall be united through routes and green places, which will facilitate interactions with the community.Building design depends on the important aspect of sustainability. To achieve the environmental impact, the v plan will incorporate sources of renewable energy, which include solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, green roofing, and energy-efficient technologies to increase the sustainability in recreational hub. The project will also serve the various design principles, where everyone will have accessibility, all classes of people will be served including the people with disabilities and handicaps. One can attribute features to ensure that it is convenient to all. The thesis also concentrates on the need of having the community in the planning and make it functional as is required. Possible exploration in the future is the growth of the hub, as well as incorporation of additional community-oriented programs. This Thesis Projects is a composition of sustainable design, innovation and a community engaged approach to lay a framework of outlining recreational space developing in low developed regions. The overall idea is to influence the development of similar projects in other parts of Pakistan and transform various urban areas into thriving places encouraging engagement and the feeling of belonging among members of the community.Item A phenemological study of post-traumatic life experiences of army public school survivors(UMT Lahore, 2017) AMNA KHALIDThis study provides a qualitative analysis of the perception of male survivors derived from the experiences of the Army Public School incident. The primary objective of this study is to explore the subjective experience of the incident by the survivors, its impact on their life, and how they managed to overcome this impact. For this purpose, semi structured interviews were taken from four participants (aged 18-21), contacted using snowball sampling technique. The data is analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. The results based on the interviews were showing a process of the effect of traumatic event to its management and recovery. It included the negative and positive impacts of trauma and the strategies used to overcome the negative impacts. Since this topic has an extremely sensitive nature, ethical considerations were given paramount importance in this study; data confidentiality, interviewee rapport, comfort and anonymity, arrangement of free-of-cost clinical counseling by Dr. Khalid Mufti (with consent and sole willingness of the participant/s). Furthermore, it was found that death of loved ones played an important role to develop negative symptoms.Item Hepatoprotective effect of cichorium intybus linn(kasni) seeds extracts on carbon tetrachloride induced liver damage in albino mice(UMT, Lhr, 2017) AMNA KHALIDPresent investigations were carried out to establish the medicinal value of Cichorium intybus Linn. synonym chicory,. This medicinal plant belongs to the family Asteraceae. The objective of this research was to evaluate the hepatoprotective effect of Cichorium intybus on the damaged liver of Swiss Albino mice by the induction of CCl4. The aqueous alcoholic seeds extract of chicory were provided orally in different doses 100 mg/kg, 250 mg/kg and 500mg/kg to albino mice divided into groups, each group had six mice. The dose was given for seven days and on the very next day of last dose followed by CCl4, a healthy mouse of each group was sacrificed, blood was taken in EDTA tubes and liver was stored in formalin solution. ALTs kits were used to test the blood of animals. It was observed that the levels of serum enzymes including Serum Glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT), Alkaline Phosphate (ALKP), Serum Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase (SGOT), and bilirubin were decreased. For comparative analysis silymarin was used as a standard drug. The results clearly revealed that , the values of SGPT, SGOT, ALKP and Bilirubin were 56.05, 58.25, 139.11, 0.81 for negative control group, 57.06, 88.28, 137.85, 0.38 for positive control group, 107.89, 119.54, 158.36, 1.43 for C. intybus group (100 mg/kg), 91.44, 92.67, 189.41, 1.05 for C.intybus group (250 mg/kg) and 80.21, 74.29, 163.24, 0.78 for C. intybus group (500 mg/kg) repectively. The histopathological studies of mice liver were also carried out . This study showed that the plant seeds extract of 500mg/kg showed more positive effect rather than 250 mg/kg and 100 mg/kg against CCl4 induced liver damage. The results infered that the aqueous alcoholic seeds extract of Cichorium intybus showed excellent hepatoprotective effect against CCl4 induced liver damage in albino mice. This study proved that Cichorium intybus acts as an indigenous plant which is highly effective for the liver problems. Further work on Cichorium intybus is needed to isolate biological and chemical components from the seeds and to evaluate the biological activity of refined constituents.Item Impact of parent-child-relationship on students’ engagement in online classes at elementary level(UMT Lahore, 2022-10-14) AMNA KHALIDThe study aims to examine the impact of parent child relationship in students’ classroom engagement.
