Introducing clc cellular lightweight concrete blocks
(UMT.Lahore, 2021) ALI HAIDER; MARYA KAMRAN; ALI SHAN; FAHAD ASIF
The construction industry globally is known to have a very huge negative impact on carbon emissions, greenhouse gases, environmental degradation and resource depletion. This paper aims to assess the feasibility of replacing the conventional red clay brick, which is the building block of construction and very environmentally unfriendly, with cellular lightweight concrete blocks on a national scale in order to preserve the environment and make the entire industry greener. Interviews have been carried out to gauge consumer and builder awareness and inclinations showing that there is plenty of opportunity and a vacuum exists in the market for innovative and sustainable alternative solutions. Keywords: Sustainability, Construction, Pakistan, Innovative Solutions, green industries, energy efficiency, economy, growth, impact, CLC, quality alternatives, UNSDGs
