“Proposing Emergency Response System Using Intelligent Transport System” A Study of Gulberg Town, Lahore
(UMT Lahore, 2021) WAHAJ MEHMOOD; ABDUL WAHAB BAIG
Road traffic accidents has crossed 30,000 which is 2.42 percent of the total deaths in Pakistan according to the report of WHO. As congestion on roads is increasing, emergency vehicles get stuck on the signal while it is turned red. The study has been conducted In Gulberg town of Lahore which has the highest record of road traffic crashes reaching 19.5 per sq.km. In order to escort the emergency vehicle efficiently to the nearby hospital “Traffic management and emergency response system” has been proposed. The system works through the application which is based on ERS which tracks the patient location and checks accident’s severity through camera so that timely aid can be provided. Both safe city authority and rescue 1122 work collaboratively in order to give signal free path to the emergency vehicle. Through the implementation of this system the number of deaths can be decreased since the emergency vehicles shall not be trapped on red lights.
