    (UMT.Lahore, 2006) ABDUL NAEEM KHAN
ABSTRACT In this project I have discussed the merchandising plan of Delta Garments and highlighted their drawbacks. The main part of this project compromises of a new purposed merchandising plan for Delta garments ltd. Delta garments ltd is a medium scale organization with vast growing opportunities. The company is exporting all its production to Europe and Middle East. 1 have done four months internship at the Delta garments. During my stay 1 found it a good organization suitable for learning purposes. It is an organization which is on developing stages so an intemee has more chance to learn in this organization. 1 have mainly discussed the process of merchandising that contains many drawbacks. The merchandising process is considered to be the back bone of the garment industry. It operates such critical functions that are of supreme importance determining the efficiency of the factory. A good merchandiser is a person who is thoroughly aware of all the operations in the garment factory. His responsibility usually starts from the receiving of order to the delivery of order to the customer. If the merchandiser is not fully capable of performing his duties the whole of the production operation might be is disturbed. Merchandiser generally generates a plan that explains the brief description of the process fi-om start to end. Such a plan is normally called as a merchandising plan. It is mainly compromises of order booking status, sampling management and order execution. Order booking status means arranging the entire details of order in a systanatic manner. Sampling management compromises of the handling of the production sample and its approval. Finally if the order is approved the order is executed by means of production
