    Coating of pseudoplastic fluid in reverse roll coating

    This dissertation describes a theoretical analysis and computational methods of the coating of a thin layer of non-Newtonian polymeric materials as it moves throughout a small gap between two reverse-rotating rolls. The lubrication approximation theory (LAT) is used to simplify the non-dimensional forms of the governing equations. Semi-analytical solutions of pressure gradient, velocity profile and flow rate are obtained by using the optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM). The graphical representation depicts the physical quantities of the effects of velocity profile ratio k and Weissenberg number We. It is observed that by increasing the values of k and We, velocity profile decreases while pressure distribution increases.
