Impact of bullying on mental health of students with physical disabilities at secondary level

Bullying is a social problem that leads to negative outcomes. Students with special needs are likely to be bullied more than normal students without any form of disability. Disability can make students become a target of bullies. Bullying may seriously affect the mental health and well-being of students with special needs. Bullied students are more like to experience depression, anxiety and sometime damage to self-esteem. In the light of the above, the present study aims to exploring the impact of bullying on mental health of students with physical disabilities. A sequential mixed method research approach will be used to conduct this study. The sample of this study will be consistent on 130 participants. Both qualitative and quantitative Semi structure interviews will be used as a research method of data collection. The interview will be conduct from the students with physical disabilities who in different public and private educational institutions in Punjab. Key words: Bullying, mental health, students with special needs, social behavior, low self esteem.
