Item Spectroscopy of heavy mesons(UMT, Lahore, 2024) Adeel RahmatIn this study, we employ the Quark Potential Model to investigate the bound state energies of heavy quark-antiquark pairs by numerically solving the Schrödinger equation. The shooting method, combined with a bisection approach, is utilized to accurately determine these energies. Our research focuses on the spectroscopy and properties of various heavy meson states, characterized by different quantum numbers. We present quantitative results for the masses of these states, including the 4F states, and compare them with existing experimental data. The outcomes of this work not only enhance the theoretical understanding of heavy meson physics but also provide valuable predictions that can be tested in future experimental searches. These predictions aim to aid in the identification of new, yet undiscovered, heavy meson resonances, thereby contributing to the broader field of particle physics. By calculating the masses of charmonium and bottomonium, including their ground and radially excited states up to the 4F states, our findings offer new insights and a deeper comprehension of the complex interactions within these systems.
